§ 5.28.030. Authority of purchasing officer.

  • Except as this code provides otherwise, the purchasing officer shall, subject to the mayor's approval, have the authority and responsibility to:

    A.

    Procure or supervise the procurement of all supplies, services (excluding professional services), and construction required by the borough;

    B.

    Sell, trade or otherwise dispose of surplus supplies belonging to the borough;

    C.

    Prescribe the time, manner, authentication, and form of making requisitions for supplies and services;

    D.

    Maintain a record on the procurement of all supplies, services, professional services, and construction; and the disposal of supplies, by the borough;

    E.

    Join with other units of government in cooperative purchasing ventures whereby the best interests of the borough will be served.
